Research symposium on doctoral supervision

As a satellite event of the Workshop sur l’Encadrement Doctoral, Adoc Mètis and Adoc Talent Management organize on November 17th afternoon a research symposium on doctoral supervision.

It will take place from 2PM to 5PM at Université de Strasbourg, in the ISIS building (3 allée Gaspard Monge, 67000 Strasbourg).

The aim is to create a scientific community that takes doctoral supervision practices as its research subject.

The afternoon will be structured around 2 presentations by colleagues conducting research projects on doctoral supervision, followed by discussions between the participants, in French and English.

  • 13h45: Welcome
  • 14h00: Conference by Dr Lynn McAlpine (researcher at Oxford University), about the scientific literature regarding the improvement of supervision practices
  • 15h00: Conference by Dr Teele Tonismann (researcher at the LID – Interdisciplinary Laboratory on Doctorate), entitled « Public policies and doctoral supervision in France and Europe »
  • 16h00: Coffee break
  • 16h15: Brainstorm on a network on doctoral supervision and activities to be carried out
  • 17h00: End
